My real estate career has been a beautiful, winding journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I live in a farmhouse outside of Champaign-Urbana with my beautiful wife of 47 years. We’re high school sweethearts, and when it came time to start a family, we decided to settle down in Central Illinois because the small-town atmosphere would be ideal for raising a family.

We quickly realized we made the right decision. Raising our five children in a tight-knit community provided plenty of opportunities to build relationships. This enabled me to start my successful practice as a residential real estate broker in 1975.

Residential real estate became a passion of mine. I enjoyed helping clients reach their dreams of owning a home. But to be honest, the hours were hard on our young family. I didn’t want to miss the important moments that came and went in the blink of an eye.  

So in 1990, I transitioned into commercial real estate. It turned out to be my true calling. Initially, I focused on investment sales. As I found success, I expanded my focus to include corporate relocations and development. Today, my clients include multinational corporations, top universities, healthcare institutions, municipalities, hotel groups, retail chains, family offices, and private equity firms.

By blending the skill set and experience of residential and commercial real estate, I help clients across the United States make smart investment decisions and build wealth for themselves and their families. My experience as a real estate counselor—awarded to less than 1% of real estate agents in the country—and the relationships I have built over the past 45 years have been the joy of my career.

While I love being on the road to meet with clients and colleagues, I equally look forward to coming home to our farm and family. Sylvia and I are now grandparents to 15 grandchildren. Our grown children are doing incredible things as a corporate attorney, surgeon, businessman, real estate professional, and international mental health advocate. Because two of them work overseas, it’s rare that we’re all together. But when we are, it’s the greatest feeling in the world.
