A national merchant builder sought to develop a project at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Assembling the site was extremely complicated, to say the least. Over the years, many had tried to assemble a suitable building site with no result.
Alex counseled them on assembling a development site. He helped them do so in a prime location, across the street from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. 18 separate parcels were combined to comprise two whole city blocks. And Alex successfully negotiated with the 12 disparate owners —accomplishing in two years what others had unsuccessfully attempted for 20.
